"Thailand's continued objections are likely to fall on deaf ears, just as they did last year at a World Heritage Committee meeting in Quebec. The Thai delegation to the WHC meeting in Seville, Spain, this week will also probably be unable to convince the meeting to accept the change.
Similar cases in the past are proof of this.
Chile objected against Argentina's registration of the Los Glaciares National Park as a World Heritage site in 1981, claiming the registration was incomplete because some parts of the park were in Chilean territory.
Unesco noted the differing opinions in its report but the park went on to become a World Heritage site."[The Nation] Democrats consider going it alone
